iPhone engraving artwork hot debate

Nowadays, the iPhone has become an idol for contemporary young “goers” and has become a hotly debated topic on the Internet. The recent design of an iPhone's sculpted artwork has also caused fierce discussions in the design art industry.

This iPhone sculpted artwork comes from the Russian art gallery Electroboutique. This artwork was inspired by the third international monument of the Tatlin Tower (it hasn’t actually been built), and the huge iPhone Tower displayed by Electroboutique is also designed to draw intricate interplay of art, design, and consumerism.

Electroboutique explained: “This sculpture has many similarities with the Tatlin Tower. First, the shape is to imitate the Tatlin Tower. Second, the Tatlin Tower is one of the icons of the avant-garde, and the iPhone is an icon of the popular technology consumer products. During the 20th century, designers gradually brought their artistic ideas to product design. This iPhone sculpture just shows the nearly one-century journey of art closer to industrial design.
